Astro Wheel Basics
The "Astro Wheel," a fascinating tool derived from Hermetic traditions, offers a unique perspective into the interconnected realms of tarot and astrology. Divided into twelve 30-degree sections, each representing a zodiac sign, the wheel further segments each sign into three decans, corresponding to tarot's pip cards. Enhanced by the inclusion of outer planets Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto, this cosmic wheel spins a web of intricate relationships between the cosmic bodies, zodiac signs, and tarot cards.
The Decan
Decans are a way to divide each zodiac sign into three ten-day periods, adding more detail to our astrological understanding. Each decan is influenced by a different planet, which can slightly alter the traits of the overall zodiac sign. By linking these decans with certain tarot cards, we get a more personalized interpretation of our zodiac profile.
How the Journey Deck came into existence
During a season of personal tumult, I embarked on an unexpected creative journey, inspired by a chance encounter with an astrological reader on Etsy. Struggling to chart my path in life, I found solace in her suggestion to create a tarot deck - an idea that had quietly lingered in the corners of my mind. As fate would have it, my journey took flight with the first card - the Fool, a naïve figure stepping into a hammock, an embodiment of my own venture into this expansive world of archetypes and symbolism.
